The refurbished tilt shift alone was over $500 more expensive than the brand new canon 45mm Canon version. Along with no 50 f/1.2?

Perhaps there was a little hyperbole there and you're right that everyone has a right to make their own decisions (about cameras and mental health both), but please point out which of Canon's advantage(s) is worth $500?

I didn't say that. I did a lens for lens comparison to see what it would cost for me to switch a few months back and it was in fact more expensive, and they don't have an AF 50 f/1.2, which is my bread and butter for weddings. You have no idea what I know, so don't make assumptions.

but Nikon glass is clearly inferior so why make a comparison....right?

and the Canon 28-300L cost more than double compared to the Nikon 28-300G.
