Did you get in the night of the announcement or sometime during the day? Also, as Helen mentioned with all the multiple preorders I'm thinking the window to get in for their initial allotment was much wider than some may think.

It will display them, but not an 18MP.
The new iPad has a 3.1MP screen - still not too shabby

Yes, of course. I don't think there's any 10" screen out there with that kind of dpi(18mp). I am very happy with the current dpi though.

I have been waiting a year and a half for this camera - I guess a few more weeks won't kill me. Bring it on!

Lucky! I'm prob. #500 on B&H

What time did you receive your email order confirmation? I'm curious what time others did and from where.

I got my order confirmation at 11:37Central time from Adorama.

From B&H got my confirmation email at 12:22AM Eastern, tried Adorama first for probably a good 10 minutes but the link was just broken, then I just had an  ..... how about I try B&H instead lol, and it worked :) I could have probably ordered 10 minutes earlier had I gone to B&H right away but I hope that won't make a difference as to when my camera gets here lol.

I dawdled for a while, so I didn't get my confirmation until 2:04AM Eastern (from Adorama). And, by the way, I have put in only that one pre-order. I'm not one of those people who spread pre-orders around like Johnny Appleseed.

Guess I thought about it too much! Didn't get my order in till 10am at b&h. At adorama store now tho and sales guy said they will have plenty in the store on 21st. Seemed to indicate I could just "walk in and buy one". Guess we will see just how many canon made.

That's great news. I wonder if they hold some aside for store sales or if they satisfy pre-orders with their stock first.

Well, I pre-ordered mines late because I was debating if I really deserve this camera. Anyways, I put in my pre-order on March 6 and got a confirmation about couple minutes after.

I've never liked the idea of doing that either and I also like the 4% cash back through Mr. Rebates at Adorama. For the 5D3 that's $140 to spend on some nice fast cards or some extra batteries.

You're in better shape than I am. I'm probably at the bottom of the totem pole doing a preorder weeks after something else was announced. Four days in I'd say you may wind up getting one out of their second allotment. Canon was really quick with the 7D and I think all the preorders were filled within a few weeks once they started to arrive at the retailers.

B&H pre-order sale was up for a good 15+ minutes before Adorama. So like I've said, I'm hoping a lot of people pre-ordered with them first and I am pretty high on Adorama's list.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of people did the same thing and tried to get in as early as possible.

For example. My buddy got his email confirmation from B&H around 11:02! (Had to be in the top 50). But, He wanted to change his billing from a credit card to Billmelater. Since he couldn't change his original order, he cancelled it and put another order in. His 2nd email confirmation came at 12:40am. And if you look at his two orders, his order #'s are about 1500 apart. Now, I'm sure that's not all 5D III orders, but how many people are ordering memory cards at that time of the night? :)

Do you remember how many 7D orders were filled the first day? I'm curious what their allotment is for the first go around? 100, 500, or 1,000+????
