I shot our local high school and Jr. High track meets this week.

We have a nicely lit football/baseball, softball field. But our track field which is separate has a lot to be desired. When you only host one event a year on your field, it's hard to justify a decent light set up.

We may have done just as well with some pick up trucks lined up along the track with their high beams on the runners after the sun set. :-/

So I left early when I shot the HS meet on Tuesday since the lighting was that poor. But I decided to hang around longer for the Jr High meet and see what I could come up with. There were a few 'hot spots' along the track so I decided to wait and catch the runners when they hit those. ISO was 6400. I'm not suggesting these are magazine cover material, but it was fun to take on the challenge of extremely low lighting.

I use Canon gear...have several bodies and lenses and am quite pleased with them.
