  • Zone, Spot and AF Point Expansion focusing modes
  • DIGIC 5+ processor
  • Up to 6fps shooting speed
  • ISO 100 to 25,600 as standard, ISO 50 to 102,400 with expansion
  • +/- 5 stops of exposure compensation
  • HDR shooting in-camera
  • Full HD Movie shooting with ALL-I or IPB compression
  • 29mins 59sec clip length in Full HD Movie

  • Headphone port for audio monitoring
  • 59ms standard shutter lag

Are you sure about full HD at 60 fps? I have not heard this. Also want to know about full HDMI out.

Other video features include full manual audio control that can be adjusted while recording! :D

Nice features, I am happy they did not go for 40mp. 22 is more then enough especially if the photos will be as noise free as I am hearing. I don't think I take advantage of half of what my 5d2 can do so I don't see me getting one, at least not in the near future. But IMO they improved on the things the 5d2 needed improvement and that alone should make it a very good camera.

this article claims that the output will not downsample from 1080p to 480 so it should have full 1080 for monitoring but still no uncompressed video to be captured by another device

Not revolutionary but I think the compression options, time code, and 60 fps will lead me to upgrade. Sigh, gotta sell 5DII.

Its everything I wanted the 5D3 to be! I still dont wanna jump on the first runs. I remember all the issues with the 5D2 release. Im happy to wait and save money when it drops in price.

Given the increased emphasis on video, the one omission is they haven't added a moveable screen which would be ideal in video shooting mode. Or perhaps they assume folk will use external monitors in that situation, but if you were that serious about video then the volume control wouln't be important either as you would probably have external audio, so I feel that is a missed trick.

I don't think, and I feel the same, that if you're using a 5d3 for video, you are going to use a 3.2" swivel monitor. You're going to have an external monitor.
I think pure photogs would throw a blood clot if the 5d3 had a swivel screen.

WOW! Headphones, Time Code and 30 minute record time!? What the heck, was Canon actually listening to the end users on this one? Canon steps up again to blow Nikon out of the video waters.

But I'm with Ben R, not until they figure out all the bugs (and oh yes, there will be bugs) and the price drops a bit. $3499 for this body is steep, but doable... We'll see.
