A variety of winter landscape shots from Iceland taken last year. Despite the difficult driving conditions, the scenery was pretty special.

The first one suffers from too much flare, but the others are wonderful!
I am incredibly jealous of you being there in winter, BUT I will get to visit my favourite country again this summer. What time of the year was it? How much useable (for photography) light did you have per day at this time of year?

Cheers, Helen

Wow, their all great but I've always wanted to see the aurora in 2.
Just out of curiosity what's the exif for that shot, I live fairly close and might get a chance to take this one day. It'd be nice to have a starting point.

The trip was almost a year ago. If I remember correctly we had light 9-5, the light was good most of the time although as you probably know the weather changes so frequently during the day and not too predictable. Would have loved to see Landmannalaugar but most of the roads to the interior where closed.

Thanks!

we were lucky to have a couple of nights of the lights because first day was a real learning experience and I make a lot of mistakes with my settings.

I actually like the "flare" in the first shot. Adds sackfuls of atmosphere to the shot. Plus, it doesn't actually look like flare, more like mist with the sunlight reflecting off it.

Hopefully I'll be able to get shots that nice when I go later this year! They're all very good.
