I've updated my firmware so I could install magic lantern. I think I moved up to 1.07 (1.09 is out now I believe).

Previously, I had a beast of a time trying to get my 70-200 able to autofocus. I think I ended up with a +9 microfocus to make it right, and it still wasn't what I thought it should be for an almost 2k lens.

Updating firmware naturally blew out my settings, so I thought I would try to dial in the 70-200 again. Much to my great surprise, I don't need to use microfocus; my lens is now spot on, like a grammy performance. I'm even hittin dead on in low light, low contrast targets.

I searched here to see if anyone else talked about it, but didn't find anything. I see there is already an update to 1.09, but I'm affraid; I don't want to mess up a good thing. I was hating that lens, but now I can't wait to use again on something real!

If you are using Magic Lantern, you might want to hold off any further updates. Often ML lags the firmware updates by a version or two.

Interesting what you saw with the lens and micro adjust, that the firmware update appears to have corrected something. Which 70-200 lens was that (I'm guessing from the price you mentioined that it's the f2.8 IS Mark II model).

No, it's the original 70-200 2.8 IS. But I'm telling ya, It's now a dream come true. I haven't shot with it in almost a year, but now I actually trust the accuracy of this lens with autofocus.
