5D MKIII makes me want a 1D MK IV instead?

Am I weird? I shoot sports/BIF and was kinda lollygagging at either getting a 1DmK III or lagging until the 5D MK III,.....however for 3500....I feel like it just made me decide to save an extra month for the 1D Mk Iv and get a lightly used one

I do feel like if they 5DMk III had been priced at the 2999 range it would have made it more appealing

i also have been waiting for the mk3 price, and i think it's too close to the IV. My concern is whether to get a new IV or a nearly new one.

wondering how much longer they will keep building the IV.

I just bought a new Mk IV because I wanted to grab one before they became extinct! As a BIF platform, I couldn't be happier. I will gladly hold on to my 5D2 for landscapes, etc. Actually, I regularly go out and about with both now. I will probably sell my 7d as its a bit redundant.

Well im a bit on the fence at the moment at first i thought yes the new 5dmk3 would be nice to have but i too am a bif shooter .
I held of the mk4 as i have a mk3 and 7d but now im thinking a used mk4 is the way to go UNLESS a 7d mk2 shows up soon.

I'm going to have both. I think the 5D3 is going to be the perfect compliment to the 1D4, and together they may be more versatile than a single 1DX.

I'm looking at the same avenue. I presently have the MKIII and MKIV so I may sell my MKIII and pickup the 5DMKIII.

Well with $3500 for the body an $490 for the grip it seems they really are the same price. Am I missing something? So based on that other than the FF sensor does the new 5D Mk III have anything on 1DIV?
