Sports from a 5 fps Canon 60D.
Camera position and a photographer's timing are important. Camera frame rate is far less important. As long as there's a clear view of the action, the camera is pointed in the right direction at the right time and the shutter button is pushed when the action happens, any Canon DSLR can handle any sports work.

It isn't that they lacked talent, but people with just as much talent are working with much better equipment now. I can go back and look at old sports periodicals and the difference is striking.
