There's 2 websites I've used before and 1 is selling at £2,700 and the other is selling at £2,400 for body only deals, whereas the list price is £3,000, so the price is dropping quite well, but they are import models with UK receipts for the warranty. umphotography grabbing their Johnson More info | The answer is depends. No one knows for sure what the heck canon is up to. They can't even get the 1DX released. If the MKIV really goes away 5D3 prices will stay put. If the 1DX is the top banana canon may be getting ready to release another camera to fill the 5K void if the MKIV goes out of production. If it stays 5D3,,1DMKIV,,1DX,,,prices stay put and canon will release something to fill the $2200.00 price point,,,,,, so it all depends on what's up. Canons sleeve Mike

My thinking is that whether it will drop or not will depend on how much of the Canon's market is going to be taken by Nikon and other Brands. They have all the data to make this decision....if it is an even greater success for them than 5D MKII, there is no point to decrease the price. If, however, people will switch systems because of D800, Canon will drop the price because not only they will sell less MKIIIs, but they will also sell less lenses and other accessories. So....hopefully D800 is a massive success ![]() The 5D and 5D2 both dropped a couple of hundred dollars after a few months even while selling like pasties off a pole dancer. Even £2,400 is still more than the full list price in the US.

Brits and Aussies always seem to get ripped off locally, so their initial prices have a considerable amount of headroom to drop. TANSTAAFL--The Only Unbreakable Rule in Photography
