I was going for the Rodney Lough Jr look on this picture. I just don't know what is missing. I just can't put my fingure on it, but I am not 100% with it. Any CC would be appreciated.

not sure what you did to it to get where it is, but the sky is too overpowering and has halos around the rocks. what does the original look like? this one looks over cooked

No foreground interest. If you would have moved over into the stream and shot from there (maybe even gotten a little low to the water), I think it would have made the scene much more dramatic. I also agree with the sky. The tone of blue is all over the place, as well as halos.

Just my 2 cents.

John

Try coming down stream from where that was taken and the other side. You will get the famous shot of Cathedral Rock.

It looks like there's too much HDR going on here, that' can't be the natural dynamic range for this photo. The image is too soft, almost to the point of OOF. The "halo" around the peaks indicate too much PP, bordering overcooked HDR.

The sky was tricky as this was shot at the point when the sun just fell over the horizon. The dark blue to light blue is actually natural. I could not get rid of the halos due to the reflection from the rocks. I will try another PP of it. Unfortunately, I do not live there and only had one shot to get the picture. I other angles I will try to work. Thanks for the cc.

P.S. I did not want to relicate any other shot. I wanted my own take from a different angle but with the processing of rodney lough.

I've never seen a Rodney Lough shot look over processed. Sorry to say, but this one is way over the top; or it could just be my computer screen.

Just looked at Rodney Lough Jr for the first time, on his website. I would say he pushes the boundaries of over saturated and over vibrant. What was it about his work that you were going for?
