I shot these photos with a Canon 7D and a 50 1.4 lens I'm not sure if you'll be able to see the grid lines I'm talking about here so I will put the link to the thread where I really noticed them, you might have to check there, it's a safe link, a dog forum called Dogs online. They dont seem to be as noticable here as on dogs online.

It's not noise I'm seeing the lines are bigger.
Here's the link to dogs online where they are much more noticable.

I'm not seeing them, on this forum or the one you linked. Since you have the original, full size images, are the lines visible on those? If so, can you post a crop from one of them that shows the lines you are talking about?

When I look on my originals I cant see it although it does look a bit pixelated, not something I normally notice. The lines are about 1/2cm square.
Here's a crop, they dont seem that visible here, I'll post the same crop on dogs online and see if it shows there.

My guess is that they are some sort of a jpeg artifact. Or perhaps some artifact from sharpening when flickr processed and resized the images.

BTW, since you are using flickr as a host, you are violating their terms of use by posting the images without including a link to the flickr page.

I had to look up what you meant by jpeg artifact, I think you're right, it looks similar.

i really don't think you have to worry about the flickr police coming to get you on this one...

according to flickrs guidelines though you're supposed to link back to their site when you share a photo somewhere else...i really wouldn't worry about it...

No, not to your photostream.

Do link back to Flickr when you post your Flickr content elsewhere.
Flickr makes it possible to post content hosted on Flickr to other web sites. However, pages on other web sites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr. This provides a way to get more information about the content and the photographer.

Basically whenever you post an image you are supposed to include a link back to the flickr page for that specific image. But they make it really easy. Go to the flickr page for the image and click the share button, then copy/paste the contents of the textbox (highlighted in blue in the screenshot below) into your forum post. Make sure you click the circle for "BBcode" and not "HTML"

One advantage of doing it this way is that we can click the link and view a larger version of the image which helps see issues. Also, flickr strips out information about things like aperture and shutter speed on the resized images, but by going to the flickr page we can see this info.

I can't see them. How are you shooting (JPG, RAW) and how are you processing the images?

shooting in RAW and processing with DPP, the canon program that comes with the camera. I didn't do anything to the photo except sharpen it a bit. Anyway, it probably doesn't matter, it seems I'm the only one who can see them. Thanks for looking though.

I can see them on the rough surfaces, like the bushes and road, cant see them on the people or dog.

Are they visible in the RAW images? If not you're probably dealing with JPG artifacts. If they can be seen in the RAW images then it could be a sensor issue.
