I just started shooting rugby union and I was wondering where do you usually like to stand when shooting? Is there a certain area of the pitch or do you wonder around to get the best angles/views?

Love the shots by the way, really enjoyed them

Thanks for the comments guys.
Randybsc, it depends what lens/focal length you're using. With my 1D/300 i like to move up and down the sideline, keeping 20m ahead of the play (coming towards me).
If it is just one spot, probably somewhere between halfway & the goal line (20-30m line), with the more dominant side coming towards me. Either that or behind the dead ball line can work, but that would work better with a 400mm lens i feel, especially if you're going to be stuck there.
In saying this, rugby union is a different game and less predictable in where the play will be (more end to end kicking, turnovers etc).
I've yet to shoot a game of union, but i think somewhere around halfway would be a good starting point because often the game will played between both 22m lines. Of course this varies with age/skill/which team's dominant etc.
But if you can move freely up/down the sidelines, i think that would be your best bet.

Hi randybsc,

I cover our games from both 22M line & try line and behind try line to get a good cross section of angles & views. Start off at one side on 22 the behind try line then other 22m line then same again in 2nd half.
