I am not sure about the Sigma 12-24mm II, I heard while its sharper it has a lot of barrel distortion or something. My Sigma 12-24mm doesn't have any noticeable barrel distortion at all.

If you're not a filter user then you would be pleased with these lenses :D

btw, you know the Siggy is one of my main reason I upgraded to Fullframe and bought the D700 :lol:

Yeah, that sucker is wide. I loved the pictures it produced on my 5D2 as well :)

ohhh they are not the same... 17-40mm is nice for walk around. But for those wide angle shots that needs setting up, these 12-24mm's are awesome :lol:
