I found another site that says $1199 (with instant rebate). But can you provide a link for the rumour? I'm old and I am patient ;)

I found this and ang daming laway sa keyboard ko. Tenk you Jo
This rumor basically overlaps with another rumor CanonWatch was first to report. An EOS 7D Mark II could be around the corner, and may get announced later this year (Photokina?). This DSLR will be the new APS-C flagship in Canon’s line-up. The rumored specs:

24MP – an all new sensor with phase AF on chip and noticeably lower noise than the current 18MP.
1Dx/5D3 based AF system.
10 FPS.
ISO 100-25600.
High speed video, with still capture.
Improved durability and sealing.

This one sounds Good.

Peter I'm just a little torn between the dropping price of the original versus the potential additional features of the future ver 2. I'll just have to see how it goes during the holiday prices.

I feel you sir jun. I am very happy with my 7d even before the new firmware came out. I can now shoot 23fps in one burst after the upgrade :) and plus the other features that came with the firmware is really nice. Good luck sir.

Tito Jun, wait till the v2 comes, v1 price will go down. Look at 5DMK2 from 2700 now its 1600 after MK3 released. But if you need it now, perhaps that's a good idea to wait during holiday.

I don't mind waiting. I just hate making a decision then you find more info and it stalls you. There's a fine line between patience and my need to have a new toy

Thanks for all your kind words.

I'm on vacation. Sitting in front of the computer here in Calgary babysitting my nephew's kid.

Marlon, by the way. When I was watching the Sandy school tragedy. I noticed that there's no snow in your neck of the woods. I just found that to be weird as you guys are on the east coast and should have tons of snow.

Nice mr tony. You will love it. The new features are awesome. Have not tried the GPS receiver GP-E2 compatibility but it is on my wish list.

Hey Peter, I was chatting with my younger brother in Surrey, BC. Looks like they are getting some snow at the moment. You must be getting the same.

Crazy snow this morning until noon, they said 15 cm snow but I think its more. Lots of accidents on the streets, it's a good think I just replaced my aging tires a month ago. I'm really loving how its performing under these condition. But syempre, full of ingat pa rin. :)

Jun, they said the new 7D will be below $2k, with the new features, I think its worth it :)
