messed up lens

Im not sure what happened but my 18-55 IS is only adjustable from around 34mm to 55mm. It feels like something will break if you try to go lower than 34mm

If it is under warranty, send it back... If not, you might as well try to get to 18mm- as it certainly won't be worthy repairing nor selling...

OK thanks, I will just throw it away. What lenses of similar range would you recommend? I don't want to spend much and I was happy with the IQ of the 18-55, I may be better off just getting another

Tamron 17-55 2.8 NON-vc is good for the money.
