5DMK3 - is it really cheaper to buy from US as aposed to the UK?

As the title says, is it really cheaper for us folks in UK to buy the mk3 abroad?

Some are saying you only save about £200 when you include the vat tax and possibly getting charged by customs? Toss in the fact that you don't get no worldwide warranty either is a bit risky too.

if us UK folks could generally save 1k, it may be worth the punt

Another factor not often mentioned, being part of the EU, we get a 2 year warranty, not just the 12 months offered elsewhere.
