Has anyone here used Delkin SD cards? I'm a Sandisk/Lexar person myself, and recently came across the Delkin 32GB Elite 633x SDHC card. They guarantee the minimum write speed of 80mbps, but I'm wondering if the brand is good. I'm afraid to be stuck with a bunch of corrupt photos/videos after the shooting.

I'd appreciate posting your personal feedback here.

Hi aboss3. I wanted to give you a little insight into Delkin memory cards as well as thank you for posting this. First off, it's important to know that all Delkin memory cards come with a Lifetime Warranty as well as a 30 day money back guarantee. Since sometimes legal loopholes can be tricky, it's important to know that we don't play silly games - our customers' happiness is number one and we will always replace a card or give you your money back if you are not happy. For example, someone else on this forum mentioned rolling over a CF card with a baggage cart and bending some pins, then accidentally washing the card in his laundry. The nice thing about Delkin being a US company and actually designing and manufacturing cards right here in San Diego, is that we can not only get you taken care of quickly but we can also easily retrieve images off your card, even if it's been physically damaged. Why? Because we have the engineering team, the manufacturing tools and the parts to put your card back together, recover images from it, and send you a replacement on site. If we happen to upgrade to a faster card and the card you own becomes obsolete, we'll replace it with whatever newer, faster card replaced it. It's that simple.

Check out our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/delkin.social (external link)) or our website (http://delkin.com/ (external link)) where users have posted reviews about our cards. Many Canon Explorers of Light such as Douglas Kirkland, Eddie Tapp, Clay Blackmore, Arthur Morris, Hanson Fong, Ken Sklute and David Stoecklein also shoot and trust Delkin cards and have for years.

Hopefully I helped to answer your question and you'll give Delkin a try! I personally give you my word that you won't be disappointed.

Thank you for the insight. The thing that I found interesting was that there are not many reviews on Delkin cards, whereas SanDisk/Lexar get tons of them. I'm going to check out your FB page for that matter. Thanks for answering the question for me!

They are a fairly new contender but anything has to be better then Kingston and Dane-Elec which most retailers have dumped. I noticed the other day they have some very good reviews on Adorama for one of the cards. But it looks like they just aren't a trusted name like Sandisk as of yet and it's going to take time for people to really put these cards to the test.

I can say i've been using a set of Delkin branded batteries in my camera for over 5 years. My Delkin UPS battery on the other hand died after 2 years and the battery/shipping was more then the unit itself originally cost. Unfortunately they are not an OEM for every product they badge. So it's hard sometimes to know which products they sell aren't junk. I have a few Delkn USB cables that worked great for years too but then it's kinda hard to really screw up a USB cable.

My local camera store swears by them and uses them for weddings/studio/wildlife/anything. They seem a little high priced, but that may be a local thing.

Would be nice if San and Lex had a little competition.

I have been looking for another card and was going to get a Transcend x600 as I've been very pleased with the one I currently have, but I've just taken a punt on a Delkin 16GB x700 CF card, I try and give some feedback in a week or so after is comes.

Ok I've had my new Delkin CF card a few days now.

I bought my card direct from Delkin UK it arrived very promptly and came in simple yet safe packaging. I did not know until it came that the have 3 class of card Good Better and Best with my x700 in the better range with the top being their Combat Flash range.

The card itself is just like every other CF card, the only difference is the label is in a portrait format which has the speed clearly written displayed.

My was bought as part of their St Pat day deal were I also got a free card caddy, which looks quite nice and will hold 8 cards in a weather sealed robust caddy.

I've only shot one event so far and not done any really speed tests, but the card performed faultlessly in my 1D IV shooting in RAW and burst, It does feel to download to the computer a little faster than my Transcend X600 card, and at the moment would buy again from Delkin.

I paid £49 for the card and caddy inc P&P, which just a little less than the Transcend and a lot less then Sandisk or Lexar

Any idea why you are not getting the advertised 105MB/s read and 67MB/s write speeds?

Actually that's a very good question :!:

Now I just download a different bit of software to do the tests and the Delkin read speed has gone up to 81.3 MB/s and the Transcend up to 70 MB/s. Still not the 105, but looks like different apps are giving different speeds.
