Let me know what you think. What you like and what could be better. Thanks.

Looks good to me. The only thing that might make it better is a person in the scene.

I love it, looks like a great windows wallpaper background to me. I disagree with the 1st reply, I think a person in this particular scene might take a lot away from it.

This is a very nice mono-abstract, unknown. Very engaging. It might be worthwhile to clone out the dark thing on the wall near the bottom left 1/4 line of the image - to make that area as consistently clean as the rest of the image. I love a good abstract - and this is one.

Regards,
Mark

Nice eye for finding the opportunity.

It doesn't need anyone on it, but I could also picture it with a girl in a floral sun dress sitting on one of the steps looking dejected...maybe she was stood up for a date...and she could be texting.

The patterns and lines are super.

You've given me ideas about things to look for. Thanks for sharing....and teaching me.

Touch up the odd spot on the wall in the lower left and you have a decent shot.

I don't think it rises to the level of an abstract. It's clearly a staircase. An abstract would make you think a bit before you figured it out. That's why I think someone in the scene might make it more interesting.

It could be an abstract....there is a giant letter "K" there.

I'd come in one vertical bar on the left to lose the door and I'd remove the small piece of slanted bar at the lower right.

Otherwise, great find and very well seen!

I don’t think I would necessarily disagree with this, Qbx. This one could go either way, I think.

An abstract is typically thought of in a “nonrepresentational” sense as you have said: not depicting an object but composed with the focus on an object’s internal structure and form. Yes, it is clearly a staircase, but it is also a selected portion of the architect’s overall design taken out of context (the building), essentially creating a new design, which doesn't represent the building itself - a study of a small portion of lines, shapes and forms so to speak. Something can be recognizable, and still be considered abstract.

And then there's that giant letter "K" to consider...

Best,
Mark

I like the shot as well but that electrical box? or whatever it is needs to go. I would prob agree it doesnt need a person in it as well.

cropping the door on the top left would make it better but the comment to take out the bottom right slant, i think it's good from there. i too agree there shouldn't be a person there but trying taking a second shot with a person next time and compare the two. definitely worth a person to tell a story.

loving the lines in this picture. where was this taken?

I can visualize a girl in a bright green coat and red berret walking down the stairs to give it contrast.
