Excellent concept and shots! What focal length did you use to get these?

Beautiful pictures out of that lens! I have a Sigma 30m 1.4 crop lens, doesn't have near that quality...

I have a lot of bests, and while this isn't one of them it's my favorite. My old friend Smiggy, who performed on my 18th birthday and my 55th, and a lot of times in between. He is one of the best lead guitar players ever, and he's local. Hope that works.

It's exactly what this threat is about! Long live Smiggy...

Superb! A very "fun" shot with a touch of magic thrown in. 8-) How many shots till you got it just right?

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.

Thanks. Just two, actually. This wasn't planned, the bubbles were a spontaneous addition.

You got good color, exposure, composition, low noise on the first one. A little dark and crop "might" be tighter on the 2nd one. All can be fixed post so they look great to me. How does he place the guitar facing backwards like that? :p

Thanks... Actually wrestled with the noise quite a bit... There is some decent NR going on since T3is are not known for their low light capabilities... As was mentioned, the lighting was terrible. I couldn't even ETTR and get a good SS or aperture value. Regarding the second, he was singing a capella during that part of the song. He would occasionally tap a rhythm out, but you are correct - kind of difficult to play turned around. :)

How would you suggest I crop the second? I don't believe either are cropped... I am certainly open to suggestion to view things differently...
