Only used 2 flashes remotely for those photos. I also have a on board flash on the shoe for fill.

I wanted to add dimension to the image. I was able to have freedom of manipulating light more since the stage was outdoors with no backstage.

I could have easily performed the exact type of photo using my fuji gear with remote flash. Just so happens I did a photo shoot of a Studebaker Avanti shortly after the Caracus band photos. Canon is still my comfort zone. It all worked out that evening :)

Scott Polachuk at the Cambie in Victoria, BC. An extremely talented guitarist/singer. I enjoyed shooting this night - wish I had the chance to do more of this.

With Sony A99 and ZA85 1.4 - this shot at F1.4. I got lucky... if I do this again, I will likely stop down a bit. haha

Personally I like the 1.4 effect. Hard to get those right but when you do they are the best...

Here are a couple from before Christmas when Steve Boltz Bolton performed at the Lime Bar Cafe, one of the best live music venues in south east England according to Tom Robinson, Steve was a founding member of Atomic Rooster and has toured as part of the Who's tour band, played with David Bowie, Keith Richards, Paul Young's band for four albums, David Gilmore and Belinda Carlisle to name a few as well as being an on off member of Jools Holland's big band.
