Hi all, here are two shots from a Prince tribute band called Chase and Ovation (http://www.chaseandova​tion.com/ (external link)). I took these in Minneapolis last year with a whopping cover charge of 5 or $7. Turnout was ok (maybe 60 people?) but attendance was light enough so it was wicked easy to move around. A month after I shot this show, Prince died. Chase and Ovation played the very same club a week later. I got to the club two hours early and the line was already around the building, ha. Timing is everything as they say. These were taken on a D610, I believe @ 2.8 with 3200 or 6400 ISO.

That lens and the 1st shot is great! The 2nd needs some white balance adjustments or maybe convert it to B&W also. The white's of his eyes are so Magenta that it looks spooky although the exposure and focus are just fine.

The Dustbowl Revival at the Crystal Bay Club in Lake Tahoe, Nevada USA. Free show, January 27th, 2017. Kind of a bluegrass sounding band playing New Orleans style jazz music, incredible. One of the best free shows I've seen ever...

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. The String Assassins, a really good acoustic-style local band here in Palm Beach County, FL. Great musicians, great vocals and sound, they have got it all. Except shoes, apparently

Thanks. The 6D, with its excellent high ISO capabilities, seems well suited to band/club photography. I have used it for many many live show shots of local bands this past year (my wife is in one so I take a lot of photos, a few are on this thread....) with great success and very happy band members. Sure beats pushing film in the old days!!!!!
