Scott Pemberton plays at a new venue in Reno, NV USA called the Trocadero on April 8th, 2017. $10 cover, sold out show, great performance. Nice new venue, terrible LED lighting!

Austin based band called Fusion. They were playing just north of Austin, in Round Rock.

One more of her plus one of the
whole band including the new violin player. Drummer is hidden.

Love that first shot! Great color, exposure and detailed focus... So how much fun can that be?

Not necessarily. There are so many live music venues that they will hire anybody that is decent. This band does a nice show, but all 70's and 80's covers for the most part. They play small bars and have a loyal following. They like to interact with the audience.

But I can go downtown and bar hop to multiple places without cover charges and see all sorts of music on a weekend. Some charge a cover, but with so many choices, why pay? Buy a beer, listen, shoot some, move on.

Well you should see it here in this area, sometimes I wonder if they have ever practiced! :) For the most part though live music is very good, I've seen street musicians that can kill it. (hmm reminds me of a Joni Mitchell song).

This was a charity event in Latrobe. The first 2 pics are Love Betttie, a very good local band. They opened for The Clarks (3rd pic). A popular band from Pittsburgh.

Most everything I try shooting from behind the stage seems to come up lacking. This shot works pretty well however. Good lighting for both the background and foreground and the framing of the shot really make a big difference. The guitarist on the right turned toward you puts at least one face in the picture and the cymbals in the foreground create a nice sense of depth. 8-)

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.

Thank you very much. This image without the guitarist facing me would be a throw away shot for me. I shoot for the local paper and this is one of the shots the editor chose. Also sent it to the band for their website and they loved it.

Yes, they are still around. They have a show this Saturday in NYC. Scott Blasey, however, has been doing a lot of solo stuff and working with other musicians. Not sure if this is a sign of things to come???
