Now that looks like a tough venue to shoot. Great job!

BurnUnit Senior Member More info | Looks like you made the most of the stage lighting, especially with the first shot. Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.

The older stage lights were bad enough but the newer LED lighting seems even worse. They've got a bit of a flicker to them which can leave you with some unexpected results, especially if you're shooting without a flash. Thanks for kind words. Image hosted by forum (864779) © DaviSto [SHARE LINK] I did manage to come up with some post processing to reduce the intensity of the red colour cast but I reckon I overdid the adjustment. I think it leaves the image rather lifeless and artificial looking. Anyway, I'm enjoying figuring this stuff out. Always good to try something new.THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Jul 11, 2017 17:52 | #655 Sometimes you can process these pictures to acceptable and sometimes not, the last resort being convert to B&W. Benon sells some Lightroom Presets for a couple bucks that will deal with the normal problems quickly: http://www.bjwok.com/ "When I shoot something I use a Canon!"

BurnUnit Senior Member More info | Jul 11, 2017 20:58 | #656 I have no idea if this is really the case, but older incandescent stage lights didn't seem to be as intense or saturated. Some of the LED lighting seems to be from a completely different color spectrum and at least some cameras and editing software don't seem to know how to handle it. You try to shift things around to eliminate a blue cast in a couple areas and the rest of the picture turns a kind of sickly yellow. Or maybe I'm just too heavy handed with my attempts at color correction. Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. Jul 12, 2017 04:21 | #657 You are correct the newer LED's are awful for trying to capture pictures with digital sensor's. I wonder if film has the same problem but I gave up on film many years ago, maybe somebody else can answer. I also wonder when they will work on the digital sensors to capture this odd light better in the future. "When I shoot something I use a Canon!"
