David Bromberg Quintet last night in Stuart, Florida. My friends The String Assassins were the openers. What a great night!

I'd love to see David Bromberg live. 8-) Does he still play Bullfrog Blues and Will Not Be Your Fool?

He does I think but he didn't play the first one last night, he did play "Fool". First half was a selection from his new blues album, second half some older tunes, some covers. All great!!!! He rocked!!As did his band.

What a treat for your friends to open for David Bromberg! I saw him on this tour a couple months ago, it was a fabulous show. One of the highlights of 2018.

Amazing night. We got to hang out after the show with some of David’s band. Cool guys. We knew a bunch of people in common.

The first shot is great for color and exposure but something weird is going on with the focus on the face of the artist on the right (sorry I forget his name). Especially when you look down at the face of the person in the audience just below his guitar, he looks like some sort of martian.

Yes I caught that too. I really believed his head moved right as I took the shot. I may go through the photos before and after this shot to see if I captured a more sharp image of Dave Haywood (I think). Thanks for your comment!

Had it been just the spectator I'd say yes it could be motion blur but it's also in the face of the artist on the right where the mic hits his face so it's unlikely they both moved at the same time yet nobody else moved. It doesn't really look like Motion Blur either, it looks more like something done in post editing which means the original (if you didn't modify it) should still be intact.

This is from a series of shots from a 2014 Lady Antebellum concert in 2014.

It has me stumped. I pulled the orig RAW and the same thing. His face is not sharp. I added a couple of other shots to my post. one was just before the photo we are discussing taken in the same minute as the subject photo. I appreciate your comments...thanks!
David

Great shots btw. At first I thought you found the problem until I read your comment. One of those bizarre technical issues...

Harp guitar virtuoso Muriel Anderson on Saturday night at a local venue. Wow is all I can say. Brilliant player AND composer AND singer. And a wonderful, warm person on stage and off. What a delight. Her partner is a pro photographer/artist and puts together a wonderful video/media show on screen for each tune she plays. Her repertoire is all over the map, from Cat Stevens and Mark Knopfler to classical to Finnish folk tunes! And lots of originals.

She is most certainly worth seeing if you get a chance. Lots of videos online so you can get an idea. I became an instant fan on Saturday night.

In case you are wondering how I got this perspective (I was trying to avoid microphones all evening) this is a long shot from the sound booth with a 5D Mark IV and a 100-400 II lens. First time using the 100-400 at a concert, usually it is used for wildlife and I use a 70-300L at venues. But this lens is good at everything so I thought I'd give it a try.
