Looks like the light is coming from below the cymbals.

It's hard to see but the light appears to be reflecting off the drum's batter head, just below his lit hand, back up into the cymbals.

Last night I used my new EOS R exclusively to shoot two live shows at two different venues next door to each other (the owners are friends and I shoot shows at both venues often and also play at both venues!).

Cash Unchained is a national touring tribute to Johnny Cash. I had never seen them before and they were just fantastic. Real rockabilly band..... This was an EOS R experiment.....without a net-all I had was the R and the RF 24-105.....here are two samples of many....I had to go back and forth between both venues. ....fun times!!!!

Nice shots. I especially like the unique stance of the bass player. Don't see that everyday. And how the keyboard player is enjoying the show.

I think the camera is doing great Ed. A little motion blur noted but I think that's more to do with the speed of the lens at f/4 already high ISO, it's only allowing moderate shutter speeds.

Exactly. Thanks. They were fairly active so stopping action was an issue.
