Hello everyone :) - For about 3 years now I've been using Windows Movie Maker 2.6 and Windows Live Movie Maker 6 to do most of my video editing and for the most part they fulfill the need. I've been wanting to get into Sony Vegas Pro, but I'd rather invest my learning time with Photoshop and processing - I'm also not sure I need that level of video processing/editing right now.

All this is well until it comes time to burn them to DVDs. I lose a great amount of quality in the end and all the HD looks like high quality - which is OK, but it seems to take away from what I'd like to see. I've tried the MS Windows DVD, DVD Creator and Corel DVD. In researching, It seems I'm using all the optimized settings; so I'm not sure whats going wrong.

So my question is simple - Which software do you use to keep your videos in HD with good FPS, option to create menus, etc?

Thanks everyone!

DVD's in your region are 720 × 480, which is standard definition (SD). It wouldn't matter if you exported the entire video in Full HD 1080p, you would still be stuck with 720 × 480 (aka 480p) resolution when you put it on a DVD.

Hi Kento - So there more or less is no real way to get HD on that DVD - ok

I'd still love to hear what some folks are using for simple DVD creation allowing menus and such.

Thanks!

Yep! I'm on PC so no iMovie - but again I have no issues with Windows Movie Maker until it hits the DVD. The quality is lost.

Thanks for your suggestion.!

Sony DVD Architect is a really good program. It's semi-user friendly, but you can dig deeper and really make it what you want.
