In conjunction with the grand opening of a buddy's gallery in Moab (The Edge Gallery, 137 N. Main St., Moab, UT), I had some time to get out and do some shooting (once we had all the images hung and the gallery ready for the opening on Saturday).

Here are a few images from my adventure:

Will tinker and see how it looks. Pretty sure my tripod was level, but I could be [Blond], er, mistaken! LOL :D

Nice shots!

Thx! I had a few others that I was praying would come out, but I had mental issues (apparently) and so I'm going to go back and GET what I intended to for my post-twilight pix.

Love the shots I did get! :D

Nice set!

Thx butcherman. :) Good weekend, despite the sunday morning "fun" (encounter with a deer at 0545am, en route to Mesa Arch on UT-313)

Nice shots! Thanks for sharing. I'm also glad you straightened out the first one. It almost made me seasick! :)

Thanks! I'll blame the missed horizon/angle adjustment to being super exhausted. LOL

Your original No. 1 shot looked correct to me. I was there in Feb 2012 and that is the way the earth is sloped at that spot.

But hey, that is just me, my shots look slanted from an afternoon of shooting at that exact spot.

And, we had the same problem heading to Mesa Arch for sunrise, except it was cows and not deer. Cows are bigger, dumber and move much slower.
