Tough loss for the Bartlett High Panthers as they fall to East High. Winner advances to the State Championship. CC Welcomed.

LOL. Yes there are some strange cuts in this area. I guess it is the new thing.

Something to think about for next year is how to better isolate your subject(s). Shots like #3 and especially #5 have fairly 'busy' backgrounds for the player. There are three ways to deal with it.

First, if possible, you could use a lens with a larger aperture to blur the background. Second, you could position yourself lower so that the player's face is seen against the ceiling or the wall above crowd level. Shot #1 has this, #5 doesn't. Last, consider adjusting your lighting set-up to have a stronger light fall off in the background. Obviously, the possibilities for that depend on the geometry of the gym and the type of supplemental lighting used.

Things to think about as you take your shots to the next level. Again, the captures are already just great.

Phil,
thanks for the suggestions and comments. I will definitely keep this in mind for next year.

Thanks again,
Theron
