I thought this would be the best thread to ask my question regarding ND filters or GND filters. I am looking into buying the Singh ray vari ND duo filter, however I just recently purchased the B&W 77mm kasseman MRC filter as I was goo to get the lee kit and use the cpl with it. Getting the lee filter kit with different GNDs for me is getting too expensive and I thought I I get the vari n duo filter I should be able to take great landscape shots, glamour shots outdoors in bright daylight and of course waterfalls and dramatic shots. I want ease of use and quickly detaching the filter from one lens to another. My 2 main lenses will be 17-40 and 70-200 MK II. What would be your thoughts? Should I sell or return the B&W cpl and get Singh ray vari n duo or go for lee kit?

Thank you,
Karim.

I love the lee kit and it is really easy and quick to swap it between lenses. I have the lee 105 CP and it is awesome.

Thank you Tommy, I am considering going with lee especially after reading about the Vignetting issues with S-R vari nd. Are you using cpl and if so which one?

Thank you.

I have a B&W CPL and a 2 stop screw on that are what I use most often. I like the 2 stop with primes so I can shoot them wide open outdoors and that is why I would like to get the S-R but the CPL is probably the most useful filter IMO

I just got the Lee set a few months back but I don't shoot that much landscape stuff but I mainly wanted the big stopper which I finally got about a week or so ago.

Thank you for your response. so i should hang on to my b&w 77 kasseman mrc cpl then and maybe look for a ND filter to use with it too? If you decide on selling the lee kit do let me know :).

Just keep in mind that ND and GRN are very different. I find with ND a screw on could work fine but for GND's you probably would do better with square filters.

Of my kit I may just sell the 2 stop Lee since I have the big stopper and a 2 stop screw on.
