So I want to get myself a semi-decent GND filter to use when I take landscape photos. I plan on using it with my Canon 10-22 lens which I want to buy in the near future.

I want to know a good recommendation for a filter to use. What is a good starting stop for a filter? Would a 3 stop filter be good for me?

Could you please also provide me a link to a good one on amazon/ebay/etc.

Any other info about alternative filters would be appreciated too!

If I have to buy only 2 GND's now I would buy a 2 stop soft edge and a 3 stop hard edge, I think you will be covered in most situations. I have tried Cokin, Hitech, Lee and Singhray. I like the quality/price of the Lee's. I use 4"x6" filters and hand-hold 90% of the time. I guess if you use a holder, a P size filter would be good.

Okay I looked online and there is just so many different types it's hard to focus and find something.

Would anyone be willing to send me links (amazon, ebay, etc.) for a filter holder...don't care what brand...just something nice. Also a GND .6

That holder would be able to fit any lens, right?

The filter holders come in a couple different sizes based on what size filters you're using. Then you need a screw adapter to attach it to the front of your lens (77mm, 82mm, etc) depending on the lens filter thread size.

You could look at a cokin p-size filter holder and a thread adapter sized to your lens

Did you read the link serankko posted? Lee filters take a 100 mm holder; Singh-Ray are available in 85 mm and 100 mm sizes, depending on your lens. Other filters are stop-gaps.

Watched it, great video.

With that said, I still would like to know everything I need right here in this thread.

So if I wanted to use a filter holder, with filter, what all do I need?!

I need the filter holder (cokin p, z, etc.) some sort of adapter that attaches the holder to the lens? and then the filter itself? Is that correct?
