I searched to see if anyone had posted this already but couldn't find it, so I'm posting it now.

It's a really nicely filmed and produced sponsor promotion video for French Supermoto Champion, Silvain Bidart:

A nice variety of tricks and techniques, but the bits I liked most of all were the 'invisibly-attached' camera tricks at 2:33, 3:33 and 3:50. I can guess how it's done, but I haven't seen the technique used before.

Definitely worth a look!

I think they just put the GoPro on the end of a rod that is mounted to his helmet with some sort of swivel. Looks like it wasn't motorized or anything so they just picked the shots where it just so happened to swivel around his head.

I own two Supermoto's, KTM and Husqvarna, so I am biased toward a video like this, but if I were to critique i'd say a lot of the shots looked underexposed, maybe the guy doing the editing needs to fix the brightness/contrast on his monitor. Either that or somebody has mucked with the settings on mine lately.

Yes, I think you're right there. That's the only part that just remains out of the shot, but it's so minimal that it's not obviously hiding anything! There's another clip of the same technique at 2:55 that I forgot to mention. It's really effective as the camera stability is good considering what is going on at the time.

It does look very contrasty on my monitor (CRT), but not so much as to spoil the video. I don't know how it would look on other types of monitor, but I imagine it would be different from mine!

I could watch Supermoto all day though, so I was distracted a bit by the bike action. I thought I had seen it all when I saw someone getting their knee down on a Supermoto bike, but then I saw that video on YouTube of someone getting their elbow down!

very nicely done. it also looks a little off on my screen. i bet when viewed properly its better. thanks for sharing.

that trick you are looking at is most likely done how kento mentioned. as if you look at the frame it is cut off at the top of his helmet rather perfectly through out the camera move. so i agree most likely its a gopro attached to his helmet. another way to achieve that trick and more dangerously and would take several attempts is to have him follow closely behind another vehicle and use a crane to do it. i still would go with the gopro on a pole off his head only because that is by far a safer option

It would be interesting to see the set-up. It looks as if it has got some sort of rotating mechanism.
