maybe I didnt shoot faster ss
or need more DOF

but they look so dark in my view finder
Im sure I need to read the histogram

I just cant get em sharp

You can up the ISO some more which will help - better to get a little noise than motion blur.

Here is a small edit of what you had. As stated, bump up your ISO and get the shutter speed to at least 1/800 but 1/1000 or higher is ideal.

In post, increase your fill light or use curves and increase the dark and shadows.

Having bumped your ISO you could then use a little exposure compensation. It might help.

Reading your exif and seeing that ISO set to 500, I can just *feel* that you're way too focused on your ISO setting as compared to your shutter speed. Let it go, man, let it go. A trade-off of that ISO versus 1/500 is a bad move. Do a shoot at ISO 1600, where you can freely set your shutter speed to 1/1000 or give yourself a little headroom on your aperture, and I bet you end up with much better results.

it will be dark
Im setting at 1600-3200 and highest shutter speed I can

I hate sand storms lol
