So I just purchased a set of Dynlites. I ended up with a 800w/s roadmax pack, two MH2050 heads, and the SH2000 head. It'll give me something to build off of and I'll eventually purchase another 800w/s pack and probably two more heads.

With that being said, I'm going to sell my two Speedotron packs and 5 heads along with all the accessories and stuff. I bought them over a year ago and they served their purpose, just not well enough for me. They were indistructable tanks, but that was a bit too much tank for me. I do 100% of my shooting on location and a fully loaded pelican weighing in at over 100lbs with just the packs, heads, and cables was too big of a deterrent in shooting, which I think has caused me to not want to shoot like I used to when it was three speed lights that just weren't powerful enough and a camera bag.

I can't wait for the new setup to arrive. This is going to be fun.

My village called. I was told that they missed me.

Speedotron users, untie!

Congratulations, wise move! Dynalites are superb products with high power for low weight.

I have two 4040 baretube heads, two 2040 heads, two 1020 heads and two 1010 heads, an M2000 pack and two M500 packs. I know that I have a surplus of heads, and I should get off my butt and sell off the two 1010's, but on the other hand I really can plug all of them at the same time into the packs that I have.

And it's not that the Speedotrons are bad, they're just sooooo heavy for an on location guy. I'm sure they'll find a good home with a studop photographer somewhere.

It's stuff like this that makes me like the expensive stuff:

And are the PCB packs and heads interchangable with the Dynalite stuff? I read something about that. I saw someone using a Zues ring light with a dyna pack. Would the Dynalite 2050 heads work with a Zues pack? That may be a cheap way to go to get some power until I can get another Roadmax 800 pack and then give me a back up pack should I ever need it.

Yes, but only the newer dynalite packs (not the ancient stuff). Your dynalite heads will work fine on a zeus pack.

Surprised the speedlights varied by 500K in that link.
The dynalite graph makes sense if you have a 1/4 power switch on your pack...it's switching in a new set of capacitors. Color variation only happens when you use the variator(?) knob that changes power by changing resistance...

I got rid of my speedo gear for the same reason ;)
