I saw a 600 non is for sale, I haven't looked at the lens so I don't know date code, but supposibly it is in very good condition. It is listed for 3500, is that a fair price if the lens is completely functional and in excellent condition?

Sorry...you don't have a location in your sig. and you've not mentioned currency.

But anyhow, 3,500(?) for a non-IS seems a lot to me, because without IS and a VERY sturdy tripod with a VERY expensive gimbal-type head, that lens would be virtually unusable.

Think long and hard on it.....

That's my advice.

Simon

Sorry forgot to add. I am in the us and it would be in usd. I figured I would have to get a very good tripod and gimbal, but seeing the current prices of the new mkii lenses I wasn't sure if this was fair or over priced.

Does Canon still support those? i.e. still have parts? That's what I'd be concerned about.

It sounds like a lot to me. The high price of the new superteles however appears to have increased demand for used ones and brought prices up with it.

No a friend of mine has one - Canon UK say no service parts are now in stock.
