I may not be fat, but now that I have started working after 2 and a half years of unemployment, I feel much better, and I'm starting to get back into shape. Build my muscle back up.

I'm going to throw this out there since you seem to have hit the wall Chet, definitely not conventional weight loss theory...

great link

im going to exaggerate for the sake of sensationalism ... but i basically lost 45 pounds eating bacon hot dogs and hamburgers....
of course no bun

also had suffered from high cholesterol which is now great....126
and to put the 45lbs into perspective I,m just 5'6" and the 45 lbs represented like 28% of my body weight

whilst i no longer eat such high fat as much.....i still eat high protein lo carb and fat

You may say I'm a Zoomer, But I'm not the only one

Hey guys,

My marathon went pretty well and I'm just about recovered.

Cruised solidly for 35-odd KM but the heat caught up with me and I started cramping pretty badly at 40km.

I hobbled home for the last 2km in a lot of pain and did a 4:15 time which is pretty modest but I'm still pretty happy with it.

After a few cold beers on Sunday arvo I even caught myself thinking about when/what the next race will be......

excellent!!! I think anyone that finishes a marathon is kick ass, no matter what the time. Good job and go back out there and get a new PR.

Thought I'd give a bump to keep the thread alive...

Between work and the weather (torrential downpours one day, 90+ degree weather and 90+ percent humidity another) I've cut my walks back to every other day, weather permitting. Even when I wait until late in the evening, the humidity is like a freaking blanket at times, but I persevere. I'm hoping that around September I can get back out there every day.

Almost halfway to my goal of 70 pounds off, another five or six pounds and I should be at a BMI of 29, which would make me officially overweight instead of obese.

Went to see my doc for my three-month script refill and checkup, and he approves-he even notices the difference that losing 35 pounds makes!

Mount up, fatographers! Onward!

My trainer keeps telling me to bump up my calories to like 2k per day. To maintain my current weight of 250 the cacls say to take in 2250 calories. For an individual weighing 165 the calorie intake for my age, weight, height is about 1650. So I've been aiming for about 1700 or 1800 a day. I also do cardio and personal training with weights. I figure 1700 calories is fine, sure on workout days that means I'm only taking in about 1300, but that should be ok. At least in my head it sounds right. The numbers come in at about 2-3 pounds per week for weight loss. (Still trying to see these numbers of course.)

Still walking every other day, though I may double up this weekend as I'm so close to breaking the overweight/obese barrier...been hovering at 196-197 all week long. (Plus the last three days have been heavy thundershowers and lightning, and I'm not walking a 90-foot tall bridge when bolts are dropping!)

My walk times are getting better...usually I've been averaging between 32 and 34 minutes for 2.2 miles, I've been trying to break my current fast time of 32:15 (and that was when I was walking 1.8 miles), but the last three times I've walked I came in at 31:31, 32:15 and 31:32...so I must be doing something right.

(Either that or the progressive house/trance tracks I've been listening to while I walk are speeding me up! )
