Man I've fallen behind with the workouts. I felt bloated, discouraged, and lazy. That ends right now *tightens laces

Peanut, keep up the good work. I know what its like. Was 285 three months ago. Down to 255. Losing about 1-2 lbs a day right now by eating veggies/fruit and lean meat only. When I shoot, I try to bring my tripod/extra gear around so I'm moving more stuff. Anyway keep it up! Its rewarding as hell.

Easy trick to losing weight, cut back carbs....a lot. If you eat carbs, eat good carbs. White bread, white rice, potatoes, etc. are perfect examples of ways not to lose weight. 90% of the results are based on what you eat, 10% is in the gym.

Just don't buy food that is bad to eat. If you have to eat fast food, go to subway and eat a salad or wheat bread. When you get the bread, tell them to pull the "fluff" out of it to reduce the carbs. Don't eat cookies/chips and drink water. Force yourself into this and overtime, you won't even notice you're dieting.

And a bump!

Still moving toward my goal, now approximately ten to twelve pounds away; currently at 170-172 or thereabouts. Went to the funeral in Tampa last weekend and definitely fell off the wagon, then set it on fire; starting with snacking on junk food on the drive to Tampa, followed by deciding I needed a real meal after all that junk; discovering my hotel had a Hurricane Grill and Wings on the first floor, I checked it out, one order of a Hurricane Philly cheese steak, french fries and fried pickles washed down with sweet tea later, I knew I'd gone seriously off the reservation. :o:lol: (Fortunately, I couldn't finish it, I couldn't even make myself have the doggie bag the next day...but dayum was it good!)

Next day, the funeral; we ate at the church after the internment with all that good southern food tickling my ribs, four hours later I get a call from my brother, "Our cousin wants up to come up to her house and eat", and eat we did!

Needless to say I stepped on my scale Monday morning before I left for work with serious trepidation and saw...NO CHANGE. Phew! :D

Finally settling into a routine of working out with calisthenics and dumbbells for about 20-25 minutes (Mon-Sat), then going to my favorite bridge and walking my 4.4 miles; though a couple of days I went to 2.2 miles because we had our first cold snap in central florida courtesy of Sandy and that wind was kicking, driving the temps down to about 62-63 degrees for a couple of days.

Going back to standard time is going to make a hash of my normal routine because I like to be out walking while there's still some daylight left, but I'll adapt.

Next benchmark is 169 (BMI=25), 162 is within sniffing distance!

You best believe that. Just finished an epic racquetball session where I could've rung out my shirt. That is an intense activity and I'm def looking forward to it again

Chet has gained like 30#'s back since his knee issue. Once you step out of the gym, it's reaaaaaaaaaaaal hard to go back. It also sucks that without the gym and some extreme food commitment, my body just reverts back to it's accustomed weight. When the say lifetime lifestyle change, they aren't kidding. Sucks to be me.

GAHHHH!

Damn, now I feel bad. :(

Yet you are correct when you say that it's a lifetime commitment, something that I've had to come to terms with; I can't ever go back to the way I used to eat and not work out, not if I want to keep living and get off the scripts.

Met a cousin at the funeral who was one of my inspirations for losing the weight, she'd lost over 70 pounds in a year...and she's slowly gaining it back; I'm pretty sure that she stopped eating right and stopped working out, because she asked me what I did to lose the weight and I told her, "Stay committed, work out every day and portion control."

That knee will get better, Chet, and you'll get all that weight off soon enough. I choose to believe that.

I really enjoy the encouragement. My immediate goal is to use the next hole on my belt. I got worried when I thought I might have to loosen it to the next hole and that's what stirred me up again

Well, here's one for ya:

When I went over to Tampa I had to take a dark suit with me; unfortunately for me, it was a suit I bought when I was a size 42 (46 regular)...except I'm now a size 36 (42 regular), not to mention the dress belt was a matching size.

Guess who was surprised the next morning when he went to put it on?

I was at the last notch on the belt and I was still tugging at my waist all day!

So, of course, when I got back to my hotel room, all I did was undo the belt...and the pants immediately dropped to the floor!

Wait til you start losing big time...you'll be spending quite a bit of money on a new wardrobe! (K&G Men's Store...I'm baaaack...)
