Not sure what you mean but as a general rule of thumb shutter speed should be at least 1/focal length to eliminate camera shake. If you are shooting a 200mm that means 1/200 should be your minimum. IS will give you some room on the camera end but not on the subject end.

Wildlife also has to account for quick subject motion so more shutter speed is good. The OP's post says he used 1/100 for a 300mm lens zoomed all the way out so 1/320 would be a minimum.

BTW - I generally shoot Av so the camera picks the shutter speed. I just have to be aware of what it's selected and adjust accordingly if I want more or less.
