Fresh install of Windows 7, fresh install of LR 4 (licensed).

Opened an LR3 catalog and chose "upgrade" - and I don't see the "highlights/shadows" slider under basic develop.

If I create a new catalog, then I have the options. What the heck?

See the exclamation mark in the corner? Click it. LR4 lets you choose which processing to use, old or new.

And the way you change the processing back and forth is by scrolling the right panel all the way down to the Camera Calibration section. Choose the 2012 process for the new features.

And be aware of the bug in which LR4 loses the tone curves you set in LR3:

Thanks! Missed that thing all together!

That's why I wasn't seeing the "noise brush" as well.

The other thing that seems... silly... is that the "remove chromatic aberration" box under lens correction doesn't seem to do a thing.

you can also batch convert in the library by selecting, right clicking, going to develop settings and choosing to update to current process.

if you are missing a tool in develop, right click on the right side of LR and choose it from the menu, it is probably unchecked.
