I note no G Series Firmware updates - I've had, G1,3,6,10,11 and now 1X. Never done a firmware update but have done quite a few on my SLRs from Canon, 20,40, 7D.

Or have I missed something here?

7D, G1X,
EF70-200 f2.8L IS ll USM,15-85 IS,USM, Nifty 50,Canon EF x 2 lll TC, 580EX, 420EX, 270EX

Far too much interest in techniques, not nearly enough photographs taken!!

The G10 had a firmware update in Feb '09. It's still showing on the Canon website. I've had the G9 and G11, but they didn't have any firmware updates.

Must have missed that one! Still one update in 13 cameras over 'n' years compares interestingly with the number of SLR updates.

A reason from Canon might be interesting ....
