it doesn't seem to transfer with LR edits. Had no problem in LR3. Is it because of the older raw converter in CS5 or is there a setting I am missing in LR4?

Or, when you select to edit in PS, you should get a dialogue that asks if you wish to "render using lightroom". Check this option and all will be good. If you don't get this dialog, go to Edit/preferences/prompts and reset all warning dialogs. This will return the prompt. Brent

Yeah, that will work, but then you end up with a TIFF, so no smart objects that way. Photography by Erin Babnik

I stopped getting it when I upgraded to LR4. I do still get it when Editing in Nik softwares from LR4. A9 | 25 | 55 | 85 | 90 | 135

Downloading the latest Camera raw plugin solved the issue. Thank you. Also, LR allows you to export to PS as layers or smart objects, etc. I could still do that but just not with LR edits, now all is good and I am back to creating stunning works of art. Great to hear that you're back in business! Yes, that's what I meant: without the new plug-in, you can't use smart objects after editing in LR (you're basically starting over again in PS, which is not the same thing).
