So let me get this straight...

A 5Dc is selling for $1000, its now 7 year old tech, but people are purging there MKII's for $1500. So for $500 you get 9 more MP, better iso performance, and killer Video... Ok, thats just stupid. Don't purge your gear just because new **** is going to hit the shelves, sell it for what its worth.

I agree, but alot of ppl know the market will soon be flooded with 5DIIs so they're pricing them to sell quickly. The prices will stabilize, once the 5DIII frenzy is over.

I was thinking the same thing, but trying to be PC about it..lol!!

I have a 1d MKIII im trying to trade for a 5D MKII, last weeks it was a more or less an even trade, now with everyone freaking out the trade went all weird and everyone is just purging gear. If I have an extra couple grand I'd pick a couple up and wait a month to resell them.

Well... not really. a 5Dc will have a hard time selling for $1k even with a grip. The price these days is closer to $800-$900.

Also 5D2's are not really selling for $1500 except for people who need to get rid of them FAST. $1700 is a bit more normal. So the Difference is more like $900, not $500.

The people who are purging, let them. Once all those cheap 5D2's are out of the system the prices will rise back up to their value which is about $1700.

Just because people listed it at $1K doesn't mean that it sells for that. Also just because one or two people sold their 5D2 for $1500 doesn't mean that all 5D2s are being sold for that price. I don't really know how many 5Dc was sold in the last week or so for $1K. I bought my 5Dc last week for $600. I think $800 is about right price for 5Dc. And 5D2 are really around $1700's. What people ask and what it's sold for could be very different.

I just bought a 5Dc for $850 and couldn't be happier. I really wanted a mkII, but this is what I could afford. $850 seems like a reasonable price.

The camera seems to be in great shape and I have read many threads on people preferring the 5Dc over their 5D mkII. Since I am a complete beginner to photography, I think I picked up a good deal and have an awesome camera.

I know, this was my little rant. I'm now the proud owner of a 5d MKII
