We've been together for 2 weeks and we're both photographers! Anyways, she does abit of make-up on her self too, so we thought we'd shoot a little bit last night!

The set up consisted of 2 250w eBay strobes - 1 with a softbox and the other with a barndoor with a diffused-clear gel with a blue gel on top (was very experimental).

As many of you will realise the amount of airbrushing used (it was a personal preference of hers...and that - apart from the quick 'auto-tone' was the only bit of post processing used).

Feel free to comment, favourite, etc :)

Personally, I've never been a fan of airbrushing :/ But that's what she wanted I guess *d'oh!*

Like the first shot the best. The blue gel looks great.

I have to say first that that's quite amazing make-up and she has a great look. I really like the first image but wish her right eye wasn't so close to the edge of the frame.

Very cool... your gf is beautiful, and how lucky that you are both into photography.. great combination. Your lighting looks really nice for the effect you were going for.

I would also agree about the skin, even though it's her preference.. looks like maybe she has blemishes that you did smoothing over?

Better to spot heal each one first and then a bit of smoothing afterwards... finally duplicate your final layer, and then do filter> noise> add noise, and then maybe add 1.5 (more or less depending on your file size)... this will add a little texture back to her skin and help it to look more natural. You can mask the layer and paint it in the skin as needed. :)

One of the main reasons why I hate airbrushing...I'd post the originals but she'd kill me (she hates her skin and the condition of it lol) But thank you :D

Ahh I didn't realise that you replied here :( And now I feel kind of ignorant editing this:

I think the blue looks cool on the side of her face but not on her fingers in #2. I'd try to clone in some skin color to her fingers.
edit: since image-editing is on I had a go at it.

Qbx Ahh nice one! I started to get picky in regards to the balance of the blue and the white/yellow when I viewed all the images, just a personal preference I suppose but thanks :)
