Our 8th day hiking on the circuit, and yet to see the towers. Had to wake up in the dark and freezing cold at 5am, then hike 2 hours with a large gain of elevation (I think around 1500 feet) to catch the sunrise on the towers. All worth it in the end.

#1. The alpenglow was unreal.

#2. More light on the towers, but less color.

IMAGE: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v129/soybomb/IMG_4625.jpg
#3. Finally some clouds rolled in.

#4. Clouds near the horizon cut the light a little.

Hard to put the towers in perspective. They're massive, literally rising thousands of feet out of nowhere.

Comments/criticisms always appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Shot that one in RAW, which is unusual for me. I think I wanted to have more room to edit with.

Very nice!

Did you crop the top and bottom of the reflection shots though? I wish there was a little room above and below the peaks to not crowd them at the edges. Feels like the composition would be a little stronger if you had some room to breath.

I had to crop a little, because the horizon wasn't straight. Also, 18mm was just wide enough to get the top of the peak and the bottom of the reflection in the shot. 16mm or 17mm would have done the trick.
