Hi,
I've been doing some research trying to find out the current market value of the 1ds2 and haven't had much luck at all. I am planning on selling my 1ds2 to fund a 5d3 (or 1dx - haven't decided yet) purchase, but I have no frame of reference for what the current value of the 1ds2 is.

Would anyone have an idea based on local sales you have seen?

Thanks!

For the 1ds2 ?? That seems to be a bit on the high side, I was expecting in the 1500 - 1800 range.

I generally use KEH as a starting point and they currently have them ranging from $1800 for "bargain" condition up to $2200 for "EX+" condition.

About a year ago, I paid $1600 on Ebay for one that had cosmetic issues but works great and came in the original box with all packaging, manuals and accessories.

I want to say I've seen - 1D mkII's from Adorama in the $1900-1700 range. I got mine locally for less than that, but she's pretty ugly.

No, I'm not a professional photographer, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

"cosmetic issues" I don't think I'm going to call my MKII ugly anymore.

Just saw this 5D2 on the Minn/St Paul Craigslist...

$1825

"I've decided I don't need my 5D II. I purchased it in December and it has about 2500 shots on the body. It is in EXCELLENT condition. Included is everything that came with the camera (body, strap, charger, battery, manuals, cables, etc.)."

About $1600-1800. If I decide to sell mine, it'll around there too.

That's about what people on here have been asking for their 1ds MII's.

On eBay, here and FM lately I have mainly seen $1600-1800 as well depending on condition. As David points out also, asking price does not always mean selling price.

Click on Completed listings on the left side to see what they've been selling for.

I was selling my backup 1Ds2 for $1,795... It included all the original materials (box, cables, software, etc.), two OEM batteries, and less than 2,200 actuations on the current shutter assembly... Body condition was 9 out of 10... No takers, so I took it off the market... Of well...

?!
