300 f 2.8 IS

That's it. I have shot the 500, and it's just too much to lug around. A real PITA. I will try both the 400 and 300 this season and then make my final decision before starting the dream lens savings account. :)

lucky. very. hey you can just take pictures of whereever u wanted to go and pretend you were there. (btw how do u like that lens in compairison to a zoom, since u have one i see. since im thinking of the same lens)

Well I am still abit indecisive. Handsdown it is sharp as heck, even
wide open @ F/4. The IS is like a dream come true for me too :D
I had a chance to met "fslshooter" twice and the first time he let me
use his Canon 300mm F/2.8L IS. I loved it. The second time he let me
use a Tokina 300mm as well, again liked it but not as much as the Canon ;)

So it helped convience me a prime was sharp, "L" was awesome, IS was
handsdown the best thing since sliced bread. *deep breath* Sooo to
conclude I love my lens just need to use it more to make a more in-depth
determination on if I will keep it or sell to fund a 100-400L (the one I was aiming for)

Note: You can edit my photo just tell me how you did it ;)

Canon EOS-1D Mark II N sounds pretty enticing, but I got the 20D/grip, 70-200 2.8 IS and whole bunch of other stuff about two weeks ago, not sure I can justify it to myself. Hey, it is a wishlist, isn't it? ;-)a

If you think the 500 is too much to lug around you might as well skip trying the 400...

...the 300 with 1.4x is a good alternative though.
