Used locally in New England, the best I've seen is $1500 - but it had 82,000 clicks on the body.

So far the best deal for new I've seen - shipped, no tax, is $1800 from BeachCamera on ebay. Authorized reseller, no grey market. LEGIT. I missed out, and I'm mad.

I can feel your pain...I felt same when I missed the body plus lens deal for $2449 also from beach camera but lucky enough to order body only for $1799.

Don't stress out much....I am quite hopeful, you will soon find even better deal.

Wish you luck! Pendu

You mean the old Ferrari (Canon 5d Mk II) will still beat a new KIA (Nikon d800)

I love my Canon but not that much :-)

Old Ferrari (5D2) will beat new Kia (60D).. Probably not a Kia... The T3i probably would be the new Kia. lol

I have a feeling that half of those who upgrade will keep the 5DM2 as a backup camera. If you are professional, you will always always want a back up...if you are semi pro you may or may not dump it as soon as you upgrade.
My family photographer (no, wife doesn't trust my skill set yet) still uses 5Dc along with his higher end 1 series bodies. I pick his brain from time to time, and he has no plan to let go his 5Dc. His reason? He can make more money with his 5Dc than what he can get if he sells it. That's how he sees it.
When 7D replacement comes out (possibly fall of 2012, big if), I see 7D taking a big hit more than the 5DM2, which it already took a small hit. Yes, 5DM2 could still go down in price, but not that much.
If you are looking for 7D, might want to wait until replacement comes out.

But, while you are waiting, how many photographic opportunity are you going to miss? Are those photo ops worth $100-$200? If so, wait...if not, get the body and be trigger happy.

We're at or near the bottom folks...if you're buying...better do it now...if you're selling...I'd wait 30 days.

I will be selling my mint (absolutely no scratch condition) 5DII, BG-E6, extra battery, and eg-s focusing screen for $2000 this Saturday. And I'm going to include a new Canon 200DG bag for free as well. Do you guys think this is a fair price? I'm assuming the camera definitely has less than 15K shots...

$1500-$1600 will be the new norm unless Canon continues to sell refurbed, then they will be less, so you might not get much action at $2K.

Canon 5DIII, 7D, 40D, 8-14L, 24-70 f2.8L, 70-200 f2.8L IS, 24L, 50L, 85 f1.8, 100L, 135L, 1.4 Extender, Tokina 16-28 f2.8, and too many lights and accessories to list.

When the price dropped to 2200 retail new...frys was selling it for 1900 which is the same price the best buy manager said he can "hook me up" for.

So out of curiosity I asked about the mark iii and he said he can do 3200.

If you're in the market for a mark iii and can get it for $3200, you're crazy not to.

Add in tax and I am back to around 3500. Only thing would I can pay it off in 2 years. I bought the mark ii for 1800 during the beachcamera sale and I haven't opened it yet. Haha.

I saw on CR about a possible entry level FF..I wonder if another camera is coming in sept.

Might be announced at Photokina, but won't be available in September, I think we'd be lucky to have it by Xmas time personally. That being said, I'm quite interested in what this could be.

and it's going to be interesting to see what price point it will sit at. i am guessing the mark ii will stay in production till that camera comes out.

to return the mark ii sitting next to me is the million dollar question.
