I see G1X already can be purchased in the UK here:
http://panamoz.com …JG6ttLw4a4CFQ1lfAod4jQiXg
for £494.
That is a £205 price drop in under a month since release.
This is now a very realistic price for this camera ...

Your guarantee will normally be in Hong Kong and so you will have to send it back to the UK company who will then have to send it to Hong Kong to get it sorted. worth thinking about!

These are all good points to ponder. Truly, if it looks too good, it probably is too good is a good rule to buy by. 7D, G1X,

If I didn't have one - just might be tempted. 200 quid off is worth a small risk. OR IS IT? The Australian shops I mentioned would be the equivalent of somewhere like Jessops in the UK.

I dont think we are going to see huge high street discounts too soon unless canon start discounting it! the deals to be had will involve a non uk warranty. And if you look at the problems threads there are a minority few canon owners with signifcant problems like dust, hot pixels issues with the lense not retracting etc. however my g10 has worked like a dream!

Mar 15, 2012 14:26 | #15 Digital Rev now selling at £536 probably with a sellers warranty. Selling like hot cakes at the moment, can see the prices stabilising between £500 to £590 dependant on type of warranty. Canon 5D mk3, 50mm 1.4, 17-40L, 70-200L, 100-400L, Canon 100L macro, Canon 2 x G1X, Speedliite 430 EX all supported by Gitzo and Benro.
