I totally agree on Lr presets.. but these are so much more powerful, I'd never take the time to make my own camera calibrations to get the look I wanted

I edit in LR, and after almost three years , I have just discovered that fiddling with the color sliders at the bottom of the edit bar can make skin tones look better. Try not too laugh too hard at my novice discovery -- but in the meantime, let me know what you think of the skin tones in the photo below. It's a pretty small crop from a much larger picture, but try to ignore the imperfections that come along with that... I'm just wondering if the skin tones and colors look natural? She's a little sunburned, and the original was much redder. Was shooting in evening setting sun.
Thanks in advance! I think you may want to reduce the orange level, I'm pretty sure LR has a slider for orange. On my monitor she looks a bit too orange. "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." -- Anais Nin

Jun 15, 2012 12:33 | #1746 RE: the R8... it was done for a high-caliber motoring event called Gold Rush Rally - which was inspired by Gumball 3000 - and entrants dress up their cars in gold and other crazy themes. The goal is to pretty much be as outlandish as possible. My friend does plan to keep the car looking like that though, even after the event is over. I will tell you this, if I owned an R8 there is no way in hell I would ever do that to it. It's definitely not for everyone. raѕιdel ѕlιĸa f l i c k r

Jun 15, 2012 13:55 | #1749 I agree, especially if you are using the red-green hue slider, but with LR they have the orange one which may help in that respect. Also, reducing the saturation a little bit may help also. "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." -- Anais Nin
