Has anybody ever sent their 5D in to Canon just for cleaning? How much did it cost?

It needs B/W conversion and pushing up of exposure, IMO.

Thanks for the feedback. It was meant to be an experiment in a dark and shadowy exposure and she liked it that way, so I left it as she preferred.

Do you mean like just a sensor cleaning?

You can do that yourself. Or even have a local shop do it for you. Cost me 40$ at a local place.

I've also done it myself. It's just a pain in the ass to do.

I did it too. No pain if only sensor needs to be cleaned.

Give me a few days and I will let you know. I just sent mine in for a sensor cleaning and a general cleaning. I used the place I bought it from to clean the sensor last week and they made it worse so I figured now was a good time to send it to Canon. It went out yesterday UPS.

Well with every swipe, new dust magically appears lol. So to me it was a pain in the ass.

IMO cleaning the sensor is pretty easy. trying to clean the viewfinder however, is a hassle though.

I got a 5Dc a few weeks ago and just shot a few pics at f/16 in Dubai. Lots of dust bunnies! I'm going to order one of the Copper Hill cleaning packages pretty soon and see how that works out.

^ Copperhill solution works great. I don't worry too much about sensor as I can clean myself.
As someone mentioned, viewfinder cleaning is really problematic.
