Thank you, taemo!
Took this while still waiting for Canada Post to bring my new old 6x9 film camera here.
Looks like I'm not getting it today...

And I have no universal presets. First, I'll adjust the exposure of the picture. I leave color temp as it was taken by 5Dc. Then I'll play with Split Toning in LR. I would just try different combinations and balance. Sometimes after split toning I adjust color temp. I also very often, if not always add vignetting. I'm not trying to make my colors to look like someone else colors, I just do what I like. For me in terms of colors, still, most important is the quality of the light and quality of glass. I tried several, including non_L Canon primes. This is why I like L and Zeiss. The high quality of glass inside of them is the backbone for good picture in term of colors. PP or SOOC. Thank you for sharing,.. can you explain how to know when light is good? And how do you look at light? And how do you metering the light? Hi Im Johnny a weddingdocumentairy photographer

And how do you look at light? And how do you metering the light? Sorry, I can't give you a lot of info for PP. My concept is: Again, some with some exceptions. Like, where I'm, we have sunny days with very saturated blue sky sometimes. It will give good picture, if lens is not dull. This is why I use Zeiss and L. They don't need CPL filters to get saturated colors under bright sun. Midday picture with cheapest L you could get 70_200F4. Light could become unique after rain, or then sun starts to get through the fog. But it could also bring the challenge for PP. Like this picture above, I have to do a lot of adjustments with brightness tools for different parts of the picture. I don't want to use the Photoshop, I use brush tool for exposure and contrast adjustments of separate parts of the picture in LR. For example, if I adjust sky to be contrast and dark it will make everything under very dark. I use brush to highlight parts I want to be visible. Not gradient filter tool, it is total crap in LR version I use. For light metering I use average metering in camera. Not spot metering. I take test shot, bring it to 5Dc screen and look at it. No "shoot it to the right", no histogram checking. I'm just looking at the picture. I'm adjusting exposure compensation until it looks good to me. Most of the times with my 5Dc I have to bring it to the left to be well exposed. Very often it will give good pictures SOOC. Again if lens is not dull. M-E and ME blog
